Applications are now open for the OECD Internship Programme 2026, offering students from around the world an opportunity to gain professional experience at one of the world’s leading international policy organizations. The internship allows participants to work alongside economists, policy analysts, researchers, and specialists while contributing to projects that address major global economic, social, environmental, and governance challenges.
Organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the internship is based primarily at the organization’s headquarters in Paris, France. The programme is designed for students who are currently enrolled in undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degree programmes and wish to strengthen their research, analytical, and technical skills in an international working environment.
The OECD Internship Programme operates on a rolling recruitment basis, allowing students to apply throughout the year according to the hiring needs of different OECD directorates. Applications for the current internship cycle will remain open until 31 December 2026.

The OECD Internship Programme provides students with practical experience by involving them in ongoing policy research, economic analysis, data collection, project management, and organizational operations across multiple departments.
The programme supports the OECD’s mission of developing evidence-based public policies that improve economic growth, social well-being, environmental sustainability, education, innovation, international trade, and public governance among its 38 member countries.
Interns become part of multicultural teams and contribute directly to research projects, publications, policy reports, meetings, conferences, and international cooperation initiatives.

OECD Internship Salary
The OECD provides interns with a monthly salary of €1,000 to help cover living expenses during the internship. This financial support is intended to assist interns while they gain practical experience at the OECD headquarters in Paris. Interns should note that the contribution is designed to offset living costs and should not be considered a full salary. Additional personal expenses, including travel, accommodation, and visa-related costs, may need to be covered by the intern.

Internship Responsibilities
Depending on the assigned department, interns may:
- Conduct policy and economic research.
- Review academic literature and existing reports.
- Collect, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
- Assist in preparing policy papers, publications, and technical reports.
- Draft briefing notes and working documents.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and seminars.
- Support communication, event planning, and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with government officials, researchers, experts, and international organizations.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student for the entire duration of the internship.
- Study a discipline related to the work of the OECD.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and research skills.
- Have good quantitative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Be fluent in either English or French. Knowledge of the second OECD official language is considered an advantage.
- Be able to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Previous international study, internship, or professional experience is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
Note: These internships are primarily for applicants from OECD Member countries, but applicants from non-OECD countries can also be considered.
Internship Duration
The internship lasts between one and six months and may be renewed for a total duration of up to 12 months, depending on organizational needs and performance.
Rolling Recruitment Process
Unlike many internship programmes with a single annual deadline, the OECD accepts applications throughout the year. Hiring teams review applications based on current staffing needs, and the recruitment process can take up to three months.
Applicants are encouraged to indicate their availability in the application form and apply several months before their preferred internship start date.
If applicants are not contacted within six months, they may update their application and submit it again using the same email address.
