The Yale World Fellows Program, officially known as the Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program, is a prestigious, fully funded leadership development program based at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.

It brings together outstanding mid-career professionals from all sectors of government, business, media, academia, the arts, and civil society who have demonstrated leadership, innovation, and a dedication to creating a positive impact in their communities and the world.

Each year, about 16 World Fellows from around the globe spend four months (August–December) at Yale to enhance their leadership abilities, expand their international networks, and deeply engage with Yale’s academic community.

Eligibility Requirements of the Yale World Fellows Program

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Professional experience: 5–25 years of professional experience with a record of significant achievement.
• Citizenship: Open to non-U.S. citizens (dual citizens with the U.S. may apply, but preference is given to those whose work is primarily outside the U.S.).
• English proficiency: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. 
• Education: No minimum degree requirement; the selection is based on professional merit and leadership potential.  
• Residency: Must be able to live full-time in New Haven, CT, from mid-August to mid-December.

Components of the Fellowship Program 

The four-month residential program includes:
