Eligibility Criteria of the Victoria University International Research Scholarships in Australia
- You must be an international student and a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- You must meet Victoria University’s academic admission requirements for a postgraduate research degree.
- You must meet the university’s English-language proficiency requirements for research degree admission.
- For the international RTP Stipend Scholarship, you must have a weighted average mark (WAM) or Honours year grade equivalent to H1, which Victoria University defines as 85% or above, in your most recent eligible qualification.
- You must be commencing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree for the international RTP Stipend Scholarship.
- You must nominate a research-focused outline as part of your application.
- You must enrol as a full-time student.
- Priority may be given to applicants who have not already obtained a PhD or equivalent when proposing to undertake another PhD.
- Priority may also be given to applicants who have not previously held an IPRS, VUIPRS, or OPRS, except where the previous scholarship was for a Master of Research degree and the applicant is now applying for PhD studies.
- Applicants may need the equivalent of 85 to 90 on the VU grading scale to be considered for a PhD stipend scholarship. Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee a scholarship because the number of awards depends on available university funding.
