Eligibility Criteria of USTC Research Internship 2026

• Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport
• Aged 18–40 years
• In good physical and mental health
• Enrolled as a full-time student in:
  • Undergraduate Year 3/4
  • Master’s

Application Procedure of USTC Research Internship

   2. Choose Non-degree, then choose Research Internship Program
   3. Complete the application form, upload documents, and submit

Application Deadline

• USTC Fellowship Level A applicants must apply during
  • Jan. 1 to Mar. 31 (Fall semester)
  • July 1 to Sept. 30 (Spring semester)
• USTC Fellowship Level B/C or self-funded applicants must apply at least 3 months before their intended start date.

Visa, Insurance, Food & Accommodation

1. Visa
   1. Students must apply for a Chinese Student Visa (X Visa) using the Visa Application Form (JW202) and admission notice.
   2. The visa must remain valid for the entire stay.
2. Insurance
   1. International students are required to purchase insurance as mandated by Chinese regulations and USTC policies.
   2. USTC arranges the insurance after students pay the fee.
3. Accommodation
   1. Level A/B students: On-campus accommodation provided (first-come, first-served). If full, students must arrange off-campus housing.
   2. Level C/self-financed students: Must find off-campus housing (USTC assists).
   3. Students living off campus must register with the local police station and provide their residence details.
