Imperial College London Trigon Scholarship 2026: £15,000 Per Year

Students aiming to study engineering in the United Kingdom have a new opportunity to fund their education. The Trigon Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London offers financial support worth £15,000 per year for outstanding students starting their undergraduate studies in 2026.

This award is designed to support talented candidates entering the Mechanical Engineering MEng program, one of the flagship engineering degrees at Imperial.

£15,000 Annual Funding for Engineering Students

The scholarship provides £15,000 each year to help cover living and maintenance costs while studying in London. The support can continue for up to four years, the standard duration of the undergraduate MEng degree.

Only one scholarship is available for the 2026–2027 academic year, making it highly competitive.

Beyond financial support, the award also connects students with industry professionals. Scholars may receive mentorship from Trigon directors and can be offered a paid summer placement lasting between four and twelve weeks at the company’s Richmond office.

Who Can Apply

To be considered for the Trigon Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an offer of admission to a four-year undergraduate Mechanical Engineering course at Imperial College London starting Autumn 2026
  • Be female
  • Demonstrate strong academic achievement or clear academic potential

Both UK and international students are eligible, provided they receive an offer from the university.

The scholarship is not available to current Imperial students, meaning it is strictly for those entering their first year in 2026.

No Separate Scholarship Application Required

One of the most convenient aspects of the Trigon Scholarship is that students do not need to submit a separate application.

Instead, candidates must apply for admission through the UK’s centralized university application system, UCAS.

Applicants who submit their course application and receive an offer by 29 May 2026 will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

The Mechanical Engineering department will review candidates based on:

  • Predicted A-Level results or equivalent qualifications
  • Academic performance
  • The information provided in the UCAS application

A shortlist will be created, and the final recipient will be selected from that group.

Important Deadline

Students interested in the scholarship must ensure they receive an admission offer by:

29 May 2026 (11:59 PM UK time)

Missing this deadline means missing consideration for the award.

When Will Results Be Announced

The university expects to notify the successful scholar no later than 31 July 2026.

Applicants who do not receive a notification by this date should assume their application was unsuccessful.

Additional Conditions

To retain the scholarship, the selected student must:

  • Obtain an unconditional admission offer by September 2026
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress during the degree

Recipients may also be invited to attend occasional scholarship-related events or to share brief progress updates with donors.
