Eligibility Criteria of ETSU International Merit Scholarship
To qualify for the International Merit Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be admitted to ETSU as a degree-seeking student.
- Hold, or plan to obtain, a visa that permits full-time study in the United States.
- Meet the minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
Specific GPA requirements include:
- Freshman applicants: 3.0 GPA in high school.
- Transfer applicants: 3.0 GPA in previous university coursework.
- Graduate applicants: 3.0 GPA in undergraduate studies.

Scholarship Duration
- Undergraduate scholarships are available for up to 8 semesters.
- Master’s scholarships are generally available for up to 5 semesters.
- Doctoral scholarships may be awarded for up to 8 semesters, depending on program length.
Important Conditions
Students must maintain full-time enrollment to continue receiving the scholarship. Undergraduate recipients are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75, while graduate students must maintain a GPA of 3.0.
The scholarship cannot be combined with certain awards that already cover out-of-state or international tuition costs, including graduate assistantships, Fulbright grants, and selected ETSU scholarships.

Application Process of ETSU International Scholarship
