Purpose of the UNU Internship
- To promote interaction and dialogue between young scholars, early-career professionals, and UNU.
- To familiarize interns with the work of the UNU and the Office of the Rector.
- To give in-depth, practical, hands-on experience in a UN agency / administrative international environment.

Eligibility Requirements of the UNU Internship Program
Applicants must meet several criteria, including:
- Currently enrolled in (or have recently completed, typically within 2 years) postgraduate studies (Master’s or PhD).
- Under 32 years of age at the time of application.
- No more than ~5 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). If English is not the native language or the medium of instruction in previous studies, a valid English proficiency test may be required.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.

Application Process
The selection happens in stages:

UNU Intern Responsibilities
As a Junior Fellow, your duties will include:

- Project planning / administrative support: helping develop project-management tools, assisting in process improvements.
- Event coordination: organizing lectures, workshops, and public events (in-person and online).
- Meeting coordination: logistical planning, minute-taking, etc.
- Editorial work: proofreading, copy editing reports, and communication materials.
- Communications: preparing newsletters, event summaries, and other written dissemination documents.
- Analytical tasks/data work: using Excel or other tools to conduct internal analyses, support policy / administrative research.
