What is the Leadership Fellows Program?

The Leadership Fellows Program is housed under the Graduate School Office of Well-Being at MSU. Its goal is to cultivate a community of student leaders who can act as effective change agents within the university. Through workshops, retreats, and one-on-one mentorship, Fellows gain practical leadership experience that benefits both their academic journey and future career.

Eligibility and Requirements

To qualify for the 2026–2027 LFP, applicants must:

  • Be admitted to a graduate or professional degree program at MSU
  • Have prior leadership experience
  • Be located in East Lansing for in-person participation

Fellows are expected to commit approximately 6 hours per month, including:

  • Orientation (1 hour)
  • Fall Retreat (4 hours)
  • Monthly cohort meetings (90 min)
  • Monthly Huddle small group sessions (30 min)
  • Managing a leadership project (1–3 hours)

Application Process

Applications are open until March 14, 2026. Applicants submit responses via a Qualtrics survey, addressing questions such as:
