  • Have applied for admission to one of KI’s Global Master’s Programmes (starting Autumn 2026 intake) offered by KI.
  • Be a tuition-fee paying student (i.e., non-EU/EEA citizen) under the fee regulations.
  • Be a first-year student in the programme (i.e., you will commence the master’s as a new student).
  • Have paid the application fee for your selected Master’s programme by the specified deadline.

Selection Process of the Global Master’s Scholarship

  • The selection is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the CV form and supporting documentation submitted via UniversityAdmissions and the scholarship application. Academic staff from each programme review the applications.
  • Key assessment criteria include: previous education, work or research experience, the statement of intent, and overall merit. Some programmes may include additional criteria relevant to the field.
  • Within each programme, the student with the highest merit value is offered the scholarship. If two or more applicants have the same merit value, a lottery (random selection) may be used.
  • If a recipient declines in a given year, sometimes two scholarships may be offered in the following year for that programme.

Required Documents for Global Master’s Scholarship

  1. Your complete application to the Master’s program at KI via the official route (UniversityAdmissions or KI portal), including transcripts, English language proof (if required), etc.
  2. Proof of payment of the application fee by the deadline.
  3. The CV form or scholarship application form (when the scholarship application opens) and any supporting documentation (e.g., CV/resume, proof of work or research experience, statement of intent) as required by the scholarship.
  4. Any other documents required by the specific Master’s program (e.g., letters of recommendation, motivation letter, English language test scores) also feed into the scholarship evaluation.
  5. Acceptance of admission (if required) and agreement to the scholarship offer (if awarded).

Because the scholarship covers only tuition, you must demonstrate that you either have funding or a plan for living costs, though KI does not appear to require separate proof of those costs for the scholarship itself (but you must fulfill student visa/residence permit requirements).

How to Apply for the KI Global Master’s Scholarship

  1. Apply for admission to one of KI’s eligible Global Master’s programmes as per the standard admission process (via UniversityAdmissions or KI’s admissions portal). Make sure you pay the application fee by the deadline.
  2. Once admitted (or at least your programme application is in), apply separately for the KI Global Master’s Scholarship via the scholarship application link that appears on the KI website during the scholarship application period. This is a separate process from the Master’s programme application.
  3. Submit the required CV form/scholarship application form and upload supporting documents during the scholarship application window. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  4. Wait for the notification of the award. If you are awarded the scholarship, you must accept it by the deadline stated in the award email. After that, ensure you follow any further instructions (e.g., register for your Master’s programme, pay any required deposits, etc).
  5. If you are not awarded, you can continue your programme (if admitted) as a tuition-fee paying student, but you would need to arrange your own financing for tuition and living costs.
