Internship Responsibilities
The Sustainability Trainee will support the IOC Sustainability team across a wide range of environmental and sustainability projects. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with projects related to climate action and climate adaptation.
- Support biodiversity, sustainable procurement, and circular economy initiatives.
- Help organize meetings and sustainability events with International Federations and National Olympic Committees.
- Support collaboration with commercial partners and international organizations, including UNEP, IUCN, and UNFCCC.
- Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and sustainability updates.
- Assist with the IOC Climate Action Awards.
- Support the Athlete Sustainability Ambassador Programme.
- Contribute to cross-functional sustainability projects across the Olympic Games Department.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in sustainability, sustainable development, or a related discipline.
- Be a recent graduate.
- Have approximately one year of professional experience related to sustainability.
- Be fluent in English.
- Knowledge of French or another language is considered an advantage.
- Have strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Knowledge of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is desirable.
- Have a good understanding of LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
