Applications for the 2026 Erasmus Mundus MemBioMed Scholarship are now open for all international students. The MemBioMed Master’s programme is a two-year (24-month) fully integrated international joint Master emphasising interdisciplinary research on biological membranes (biomembranes) and their roles in neuroscience and experimental medicine.

It is delivered by a consortium of three European universities: Université Côte d’Azur (France), the University of Genoa (Italy), and Osnabrück University (Germany), offering high-quality resources, mobility, and research training.

The programme prepares graduates to become scientists, entrepreneurs, or industry leaders in the area of biomembranes, combining cell biology, biophysics, biochemistry, pharmacology, neuroscience, and relevant technologies.

Learning Path of the MemBioMed Program

  • Semester 1: at Université Côte d’Azur (France) – Foundations of biomembrane biology.
  • Semester 2: at the University of Genoa (Italy) – Advanced studies in biomembrane-related pathologies and neuroscience.
  • Semester 3: at Osnabrück University (Germany) – Specialisation, methodological approaches (e.g., cellular nanoanalysis) and preparation for thesis.
  • Semester 4: Master’s thesis (conducted at any consortium university or an associated partner) where the student works independently on a defined biomembrane research question, culminating in a thesis defence.

The curriculum integrates theoretical modules, practical laboratory work/internships, workshops and international events focused on emerging technologies in membrane biology.
