Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a citizen of a developing Country with which Brazil has an educational cooperation agreement (Latin America, Africa, Asia, Caribbean). List of Countries eligible in PEC-G here.
  • Not holding Brazilian nationality
  • Bachelor’s degree required for master’s or a master’s degree for PhD
  • Provide proof of Portuguese language proficiency (usually the CELPE-Brás exam)
  • First secure admission into a Brazilian postgraduate program, then apply for the scholarship
