The AfDB Internship Program 2027 is now open for applications for Session 1, offering students and recent master’s graduates an opportunity to gain professional experience with the African Development Bank Group. The internship will start in January 2027 and selected interns may work at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, regional and country offices, or remotely, depending on the needs of the hiring department.
The African Development Bank Internship Program is designed to give participants practical experience in an international development institution. The program also helps the Bank develop a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment. However, the Bank states that an internship should not be expected to lead directly to employment.
For Session 1 of the AfDB Internship Program 2027, the Bank plans to recruit 40 interns. Applications are open from 28 September to 12 October 2026, and selected candidates are expected to begin their internships in January 2027. Applicants will receive notification of the outcome by 30 November 2026.
