Available Traineeship Strands
Applicants may apply for only one traineeship strand.
1. Administrative Traineeship for University Graduates (ADMIN UG)
Designed for university graduates interested in gaining experience in European policymaking, administration, and public service.
2. Administrative Traineeship for Vocational Education and Training Graduates (ADMIN VET)
Introduced for graduates of vocational education and training programmes who wish to develop practical skills within the European Commission.
3. Translation Traineeship (TRA)
Offered by the Directorate-General for Translation (DGT). This traineeship is available only to citizens of EU Member States and focuses on translating EU documents into and out of the EU’s 24 official languages.

Eligibility Criteria
For the Administrative Traineeship for University Graduates, applicants must:
- Hold a completed university degree.
- Meet the required language requirements.
- Have no more than 42 days of previous work experience in any EU institution, agency, body, office, or delegation.
For the Administrative Traineeship for VET Graduates, applicants must meet the programme’s vocational education and language requirements.
For the Translation Traineeship, applicants must:
- Be citizens of an EU Member State.
- Meet the education requirements.
- Meet the required language requirements.
