Why GSCAAS?

GSCAAS is the higher education arm of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China’s leading research organization in agriculture. Scholarships Available

GSCAAS provides generous funding options to international students:

  1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) – Covers tuition, textbooks, accommodation, living allowance (3,000–3,500 RMB/month), and medical insurance.
  2. GSCAAS Scholarship – Tuition waiver, research assistantship, dorm, and insurance.
  3. Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) – Tuition-free with additional support from supervisors.
  4. GSCAAS-OWSD Fellowship – Specifically for female scientists from developing countries, covering living allowance, travel, conferences, and tuition.
  5. Other international scholarships are also accepted.

Eligibility

  • Non-Chinese citizens in good health
  • Age & degree limits: Master’s (<35, Bachelor’s), Doctoral (<40, Master’s), Scholars (<45/50)
  • English or Chinese language proficiency

Application Process

  1. Complete the GSCAAS online application.
  2. Submit documents including passport, diplomas, transcripts, CV, research proposal, reference letters, language certificates, medical exam, and non-criminal record.
  3. CGS applicants must also submit the CSC application form via studyinchina.csc.edu.cn.

Deadlines

  • Chinese Government Scholarship: March 31, 2026
  • GSCAAS Scholarship: April 30, 2026

Duration & Graduation:

  • Master’s & Doctoral programs: 3 years
  • Graduation requires HSK Level 5 for Chinese-taught programs or HSK Level 3 for English-taught programs.
  • Visiting study programs are also available for up to 2 years.
