The Broad Summer Research Program (BSRP) is a nine-week research experience for undergraduate students who want to pursue careers in biomedical science and genomics. Participants work in Broad Institute labs on real research projects ranging from cancer to infectious diseases to computational biology. The program also includes scientific-communication training, workshops with MIT and Harvard scientists, and sessions focused on graduate-school preparation.

BSRP is designed for students who are serious about pursuing graduate school or a research-focused career. Even if you’ve never worked in a lab before, the program gives you everything you need to grow, learn, and build confidence.

Who Can Apply?

You must meet all of the following requirements:

Enrolled in a four-year U.S. college for Fall 2025
Expected graduation date of December 2026 or later
Major in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, math, or computer science
Minimum 3.2 GPA
Strong interest in pursuing a PhD or MD-PhD
U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or non-US citizen with valid employment authorization
Able to commit to the full nine weeks
Not enrolled in any other course, job, or program during the summer

The program encourages students with limited research experience or limited access to STEM opportunities to apply too.
