Benefits of the Chulalongkorn University Graduate Scholarship 2026

  • Tuition waiver: Full tuition fees are covered. However, special fees charged by some faculties/programs may be excluded or require separate arrangements. 
  • Monthly stipend + accommodation: 16,000 Baht/month (this includes living + accommodation) for the duration of the study.
  • Airfare/Travel Allowance: Round-trip economy airfare is reimbursed, with maximum amounts varying depending on the applicant’s region. Examples: ASEAN ~ 8,500 Baht per leg, other Asian ~ 12,000 Baht, Europe/Africa/Australia/NZ ~ 20,000 Baht or more.
  • Duration of support: 2 years for a Master’s degree; 3 years for a PhD.

Scholarship Conditions

  • No extension of scholarship term allowed.
  • Recipients cannot defer the scholarship period once awarded.

Eligibility Criteria of Chulalongkorn University Graduate Scholarship

To apply, applicants must satisfy several criteria. These are the general eligibility conditions:

  • Nationality: Open to international students (ASEAN & non-ASEAN). Not for Thai citizens. 
  • Previous study at Chula: Applicants who have already studied at Chulalongkorn University for more than one semester are generally not eligible.
  • Academic degree: For Master’s: a completed Bachelor’s degree; for PhD: a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
  • GPA / Academic standing: Minimum undergraduate GPA ~ 2.75; for graduate level ~ 3.25 or equivalent.
  • Age limit: Be under 35-40 years old at the time of application.
  • Language proficiency: Must provide proof of English proficiency: e.g., TOEFL (traditional or computer-based) or IELTS, with minimum acceptable scores (e.g, TOEFL ≥ 500 or computer-based equivalent, IELTS ≥ 5.0), depending on the program.
  • Health: Good physical health is required; a medical certificate is among the required documents.

Here are the steps to apply for the Chulalongkorn University Graduate Scholarship:

  1. Select a Graduate Program: Choose the specific Master’s or PhD program you wish to apply to at Chulalongkorn University. Check that the program accepts international scholarship applications.
