University of Macau International Student Scholarship
Type A Scholarship
- 100% waiver of the master’s degree tuition fee
- 100% waiver of on-campus accommodation fee for a shared bedroom
- Half teaching assistantship of MOP 4,000 per month
Type B Scholarship
- 100% waiver of the master’s degree tuition fee
- Does not include the Type A accommodation waiver or monthly teaching assistantship listed above
Type C Scholarship
- Waives the international tuition fee differential
- Awardees pay the same tuition rate applicable to local students
Eligible international master’s applicants are automatically considered for these scholarships during the admission process. No separate scholarship application is required.

UM PhD Scholarship Benefits
The UM PhD Scholarship (UMPS) is available to students admitted to eligible full-time PhD programmes at the University of Macau.
The scholarship provides:
- MOP 20,000 monthly stipend
- Funding for up to four years
- Tuition fees are offset against the monthly stipend before the remaining stipend is paid
- Applicants can apply regardless of nationality
- No prior work experience is required
- Scholarship consideration is made through the university-level selection process
- The scholarship is available for admission in the first semester
