Applications are now open for the Canada Graduate Research Scholarships – Master’s (CGRS M) at McGill University in Canada. The scholarship is funded through Canada’s three federal research agencies and supports outstanding students pursuing eligible research-based master’s and, in some cases, early-stage doctoral programs. The award is worth CAD 27,000 for one year and is designed to help students develop advanced research skills while completing graduate studies at a Canadian university.
The CGRS M scholarship is open only to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and protected persons in Canada. Applicants must be enrolled in, have applied to, or plan to apply for a full-time eligible graduate program at a Canadian institution with a CGRS M allocation, including McGill University. Students who are not yet enrolled must submit their admission application before the deadline set by their intended graduate program.
Applicants selected for the Canada Graduate Research Scholarships will receive CAD 27,000 for one year. The scholarship is non-renewable and supports research in health sciences, natural sciences and engineering, as well as social sciences and humanities. Eligibility Criteria of Canada Graduate Research Scholarships
To apply for the McGill University CGRS Master’s Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person in Canada.
- Apply for or be enrolled in a full-time eligible graduate program.
- Have completed between 0 and 12 months of full-time graduate study by December 31 of the application year, depending on the program pathway.
- Meet the first-class GPA requirement for the last two completed years of study.
- Not have previously held a CGRS Master’s scholarship.
- Submit only one CGRS M application during the competition year.
